SimChat supports text, voice and video modes for AI-powered consultations. In video mode, learners interact with an AI-generated video avatar.

When building a scenario, educators can customise the video avatar to match the character they are creating. This includes choosing the avatar's appearance, selecting a voice and adjusting speech speed.

Choose an avatar that fits the case

SimChat includes a library of video avatars representing a range of ages, genders and ethnicities. When creating a scenario, educators select the avatar that best matches the character described in their case.

Create your own avatars with a single image

Our Enterprise plan allows organisations to generate their own avatars, which are available only to their users. All this requires is uploading a single image in our scenario authoring tool; an avatar is then generated and stored in the organisation's personal avatar library for use in any scenario.

Select and preview voices

Each avatar can be paired with a voice. SimChat offers a selection of male and female voices, grouped by accent. Educators can preview each voice before assigning it to a scenario.

There is also an auto-select option that automatically matches the voice to the chosen avatar.

Adjust speech speed

Educators can adjust the speech speed of the avatar using a simple slider. The default is 1.0x, but this can be increased or decreased depending on the scenario. Small adjustments like this help make the interaction feel more realistic for learners.

Designed for educator control

All of these settings are configured by the educator during scenario creation. Learners do not need to set anything up. They simply start the consultation and interact with the avatar as they would in a real encounter.

This gives teaching teams control over how each case looks and sounds, while keeping the learner experience straightforward.
