Scenarios and content

SimChat provides tools to create and run unlimited custom scenarios. Example scenarios are included to help you see how the platform works.

The scenario libraries are optional add-ons available for paid plans, giving you instant access to 1,000+ ready-made scenarios developed by Geeky Medics.

No. Our optional scenario libraries allow you to quickly get started or you can use our scenario generator tool to convert existing materials (PDFs, Word documents, scripts) into interactive scenarios in around 60 seconds.

You do. Any scenarios, scripts, checklists, and other content your organisation creates on SimChat remain your intellectual property. We do not claim ownership of your content. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.

Yes. You can upload your curriculum as a CSV and map scenarios to it. We also include a UK Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) content map template for one-click import.

Yes. SimChat works out of the box, but organisations can add their own preferences for roleplay style, marking, and feedback to align with their teaching approach. Scenarios support custom marking rubrics, enabling standardised assessment and automated feedback against your own criteria.

Yes. White-labelling options include custom logos, brand colours, and organisation-specific URLs.

Data and privacy

No. We provide transcripts only. If required, students can use their device's screen recording to capture sessions for personal review.

We can support data processing within the EU on a per-organisation basis using Microsoft Azure. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

No. Customer data is never used to train AI models.

Simulation modes and minutes

SimChat offers three simulation modes:

  • Text mode: Text-based chat interactions
  • Voice mode: Real-time voice conversations
  • Video mode: Face-to-face conversations with AI avatars

No. Text, voice, and video modes can be enabled or disabled on a per-scenario basis, so you have full control over which modes are available for each case.

Voice and video simulations use audio minutes and video minutes respectively. Minutes are shared across your organisation and individual user-level limits can be set.

Each plan includes a different allowance. See the pricing page for details.

No. Video minutes are charged separately. Usage is managed through a shared organisational balance, and individual user limits can be set to control spend without pre-allocating minutes.

Yes. Enterprise plan customers can upload custom avatars from a single image. These avatars are stored exclusively for your organisation's use.

Yes. The platform interface is available in English, Spanish, and French. AI interactions support a much wider range of languages, so learners can practise in their target language.

For voice mode, we offer a library of voices covering a range of accents and languages, so scenarios can reflect the diversity of real-world interactions.

Yes. Voice cloning allows organisations to create custom AI voices for their scenarios. Contact us to learn more.

Pricing and plans

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

We'll notify you when you're approaching your limits. There are two types:

  • Audio or video minutes: If you run out, you can purchase additional minute packages from your Plan page at any time.
  • Plan limits (e.g. user seats, scenarios, staff accounts): If you reach a limit, you can purchase additional seats or upgrade your plan.

See the pricing page for more information.

Yes. We have a 2-page PDF overview that covers what SimChat is, how it works, and who it's for. You can download it and share it with colleagues or decision-makers.

Students and access

SimChat supports two tiers of learning. Students can practise independently with immediate AI-supported marking and personalised feedback, enabling self-directed learning at scale.

Staff can also review sessions, adjust marks, add their own feedback, and notify learners afterwards, giving faculty oversight without limiting when or how often students practise.

A dashboard provides a quick overview of activity and progress across individual users and cohorts, with full access to transcripts and performance data.

Staff accounts (administrators and authors) can create and manage scenarios. Users are learners who participate in simulations. Each plan includes a set number of both staff accounts and user seats.

No. Staff accounts are included at no extra cost. The number of staff accounts available scales with the total number of user licences on your plan.

A licence is consumed when a user joins your organisation, not when they are invited. If a user is deactivated mid-period, the licence is freed when your plan renews.

Additional user seats can be purchased at any time from your Plan page.

Users can be organised into groups, scenarios into collections, and access controlled by user, group, or collection. Inviting students is straightforward via the app's built-in invite and group management tools.

Yes. Anonymous invites can be enabled so participants use the platform without providing names or email addresses.

Scenarios can be deep-linked so users go straight to a specific case. Full LMS integration and single sign-on (SSO) are available as part of our Enterprise plan. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

Yes. Organisations can export data on a per-user or per-cohort basis, including transcripts, in CSV format. Students can also export a PDF summary of their sessions for portfolios or LMS submissions.
